Prophetic Dreams

Prophetic Dreaming can be tricky and beautiful. I’m not here to convince you whether dreaming about the future is real or false. I’m not here for that at all. I’m here to tell you about how this picture I took in Orlando, Florida, reminds me of how prophetic dreaming can work. This is a layered thing and hopefully I do get through the important layers in this subject, my apologies in advance, if I do not.
I want to start by saying that NOT all dreams are prophetic or glimpses of the future. Most dreams are not. You can have all sorts of dreams. Anxiety dreams, healing dreams, data base dreams (where your mind is just going through recent memories), and of course, prophetic dreams. There are probably more categories, but for now, that sets us up.
So let’s just stick to prophetic dreams and why I think this picture resembles a flash of the future. If I were to see this exact image in a dream, and let’s just say, it comes to me like a flash, there is a chance I saw a future timeline very quickly, but not the whole picture. The dark shadow that takes half of the picture is such a good metaphor for this. After the dream, I would wake up, write the image in my dream journal and let time march on. Time would tick and finally there would be a familiar moment, a feeling that I recognize and felt like I have seen before. I would recall the picture I saw in my dreams many moons ago, but this time there’s no dark haze glooming around it. In that moment I would have great clarity about my dream because the whole picture would be revealed to me.
Not all prophetic dreams come in flashes, but they can come like that. Sometimes you’re the viewer of something, sometimes, it’s a parable that doesn’t make sense, sometimes it’s a simple dream, that has strong feelings attached to them.
Dreams are like riddles, for the most part. I have a dream journal and I write all of my dreams down. Sometimes I’m guided right away to understand the riddle. Sometimes the riddle plays in repeat. Sometimes I can’t understand one thing about it. Some prophetic dreams are direct. Which dream directness is very rare, for me at least. The latest direct prophetic dream I had, was simple. I stood there at my dad’s old neighborhood and suddenly an angel like being walked over to me and gave me a prophetic word. It was less about the image riddles and more about relaying an important life changing moment for me.
Dreaming about the future is a gift. It took me a long time to realize that. The downside about knowing the future or having a prophetic word is… The timing. Oh the timing will get you. This has been very hard for me. In the spiritual realm, their time is different than our time. It can take days, or months, and even years for some dreams to come true.
This takes me back to the picture again. Not everything is going to be clear. Be patient and the full image will reveal itself to you in divine timing.
